In 6 days God created the world. On the 7th he rested, but a day of God is equal to a thousand years. Hence the world will last for 6000 years of toil and labor. Then will come the 1000 years of sabbath rest for the people of God in the kingdom of the Messiah. This idea must have already been very common in the first century before Christ.

The Holy Scriptures Testify

Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. you shall not eat of it; for in the day you eat of it, you shall surely die"
Adam only lived to be 930 years old. He died in that millennial day. Very early here in the Bible, God establishes the millennial day calendar.

Genesis 6:3
And the Lord said, My spirit will not always strive with man, for he is but flesh, yet his days shall be 120 years.
In context, since God has not stopped striving with man, it is believed that these 120 years are not only counted as years to the flood, but counted as jubilee years. A jubilee year is every 50 years (Lev 25:11) > 50 x 120=6000 years. Two other signs of 120 couple with this; the life of Moses being 120 years long, and the purification prophecy in Leviticus 12:1-5, which adds up to 120 days, signifying the earth being purified at the 120th jubilee, the 6000th year.

Isaiah 46:10
I have declared the endfrom the beginning, and from long ago,
what has not yet been fulfilled.
The beginning, Genesis chapter 1, the 6 days of creation, declares the end, at the 6000th year. A day is as 1000 years ( Ps 90:4, 2 Peter 3:8). 6 days = 6000 years. If not, then what other beginning is this talking about?

Not Preterist - Not Futurist

Hosea 6:2
"After two days he will revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight", showing millennial day time keeping. And the 3rd millennial day from when this was prophesied will be in resurrected life of Christ's 1000 yr reign. We shall live in his sight, when we are raised up (speaking of the Resurrection)

Acts 2:14-17 & Hebrews 1:1-2.
'And it shall come to pass in the last days says God, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh... (Acts 2:15-17).

God ... has in these last days spoken to us by his Son... (Heb 1:1-2)

The "last days" would be millennial day 5 and 6. These scriptures make no sense if there is no 6000 year plan of God. For those writers to say its the last days from 2000 years ago, without considering a day is as a 1000 years, would be contradictory, since it's been a long, almost 2000 years of time since they wrote that in scripture.
There are many more scriptures showing that in 2 millennial days, he returns and in the 6 millennial day patterns throughout the scriptures. These are in the free book by emailing 6000thyear@gmail.com.

The Supernatural Signs
2028end.com - many amazing signs given for the year 2028 as the 6000th year. DO NOT make light of this one. Some of those signs are down right incredibly given by God. No other year has this going for it. Only 2028. Here are links to the strongest of those signs.

Colossians 2:16,17 says the Sabbath (and feast days) is a shadow of what's to come, (representing the 7th millennial day, Christ's  1000 year reign, from the 6000th, to the 7000th year, from creation). Since all 7 feast days represent very specified events, why is the Sabbath singled out in unbelief, as the exception? And since the 1st 4 feasts were fulfilled in very precise timing, why not the sabbath and the last 3 feasts? Is God inconsistent? Furthermore, the law requires the Sabbath to start at the end of the 6th day, i.e., the 6th millennial day, so the resurrection must happen by the 6000th year, or Jesus words in Matt 5:17 fail, that he is fulfilling the law, including the law of the sabbath millennial reign and the next feast to fulfill is the Feast of Trumpets, also shown in this phenomena in the #7 cows.

This is similar to Pharoah's dream of the 7 fat healthy cows and the 7 famished cows, which represents 14 years of time. Do these 2 #7 cows represent 14 years also, to 2028? Is it a coincidence that they were born on the very feast of Trumpet days for 2014 and 2028? Or was this a planning of God to give us this sign?
Daniel 12:9 "for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end"
This says we would know at "the time of the end," but Christians are in  unbelief.

The free book, World War 3 and the 6000th Year Resurrection
(paperback version here on Amazon) answers to all the arguments against this view of prophecy, including the false claims of the LXX Septuagint (false chronology), the faulty Ptolemy BC year count,  false SDA measure of time, the false measure of the 3 days and 3 nights Jonah prophecy, the faulty Essene calendar, and the vey miss understood claim of Christians who quote Matthew 24:36 "of that day and hour knoweth no man" which is not even addressing the Resurrection, as shown here.

One of the most powerful tools you could have during WW3 that can help people see what comes next, the Resurrection, is the book World War 3 and the 6000th Year Resurrection. If you try to tell people during WW3 that the Resurrection is soon, they will just think it's your opinion or private interpretation of prophecy, but when you can show them all the documentation with the signs and wonders backing that were foretold, you can convince them in a far more effective way, that the Resurrection is soon and to get right with God, because the cut off time is coming!
